Welcome to the Canadian-German Eureka Co-Chair!

From 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025, Canada and Germany will co-chair Eureka. For the first time since its foundation in 1985, two countries will jointly lead the world’s largest network for technological innovation.

Based on its European roots, Eureka has developed into a global cooperation platform for technology development and its application. The Canadian-German Co-Chair aims to further intensify the global cooperation between valued partners and to contribute to social and economic competitiveness and security.

The Canadian-German Eureka Co-Chair is jointly implemented by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the National Research Council of Canada (NRC).

Circular value creation

Our image of the circular economy will change. We will look at sub-processes and analyse the interfaces through which they are connected to other sub-processes. Digital tools will be used to control material and component flows so that the right material is in the right place at the right time.

With the focus topic “Circular value creation”, the broad experience and expertise of the Eureka network will be used to further develop the vision of holistic circular value creation. The research questions required to make this vision a reality will be identified and answered.
