Eureka is bringing a delegation of 40 small and medium sized enterprises from 17 countries to the Singapore Week of Innovation and TeCHnology (SWITCH) in Singapore on 28-30 October 2024.
At SWITCH, company representatives can connect with potential business and research and development project partners, venture capitalists and investors, benefitting from networking with the Asian innovation ecosystem players the event attracts each year.
Eureka has offered one ticket per company, which includes entry to SWITCH and a travel grant. The 40 companies were selected from a pool of Eureka alumni that have participated in Eurostars or Innowwide projects since November 2021. Three companies have also been put forward to pitch in the event’s celebrated pitching competition, Slingshot.
Eureka is offering this package as part of its investment readiness programme within the European Partnership on Innovative SMEs, which is co-funded by the European Union through Horizon Europe. The investment readiness programme supports companies as they form international connections with investors and corporate partners. This package for Eureka alumni has also been made possible thanks to close collaboration with Eureka’s Singaporean member, Enterprise Singapore.
Eureka representatives will be speaking during the session “how the Eureka network is enabling entrepreneurs to innovate worldwide” and available to answer questions on its successful funding and support programmes at a stand.
“With this mission to SWITCH in 2024, we are confident the 40 companies attending will be able to make meaningful connections with business or strategic partners in Singapore and Asia. Eureka alumni represent some of Europe’s top business and innovator talents and it is part of our support scheme to encourage and facilitate their participation in events like these to accelerate their growth in markets beyond Europe.” – Rudolf Hagenmüller, Eureka President
SWITCH is an annual tech event that welcomes 15,000 attendees each year in the form of industry leaders, entrepreneurs, creators, accelerators and investors. The event features a pitching competition, keynote speeches by sector, panel discussions on market access and an exhibition space.
Eureka is the world’s biggest public network supporting companies, research institutes and universities cooperating on international R&D and innovation. Through its funding and support programmes, national ministries and agencies in Eureka countries and the European Union fund international research, development, innovation and market feasibility projects and offer business acceleration services.
Key characteristics of Eureka projects include delivering innovative products, services or technologies, being market-oriented and civilian-focused, having a short duration of up to three years and involving collaboration between at least two partners from different Eureka countries.
Founded by 18 European countries and the European Union in 1985 with the intention of fostering European competitiveness, Eureka’s network today extends further to encompass 47 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and North and South America. Eureka’s goal is to support businesses (SMEs in particular, but also large companies, researchers and innovators) as they collaborate internationally, grow and expand into new markets.
